Skincare for beginners: morning and night, explained
You do not need a shelf full of products to begin. Understand the jobs of cleansing, moisturizing and sun protection, then build a routine you can comfortably repeat.
The morning order
Cleanse, moisturize, then protect. A cleanser removes dirt and excess oil. A moisturizer helps keep skin comfortable. Sunscreen is the final skincare step before sun exposure. Each has a different job; using more of one does not replace another.
What changes in the evening?
Cleanse and moisturize. You do not need to repeat your morning sunscreen step at bedtime. Keep the routine practical for your day, whether that means an early class, a commute or getting home late.
Where do the extras fit?
Hit Refresh is an optional hydrating mist: shake it before use. Glow Hour is a weekly clay mask, used 1–2 times per week for 10–15 minutes, then rinsed off and followed with moisturizer. Neither is a compulsory daily step. Keep using products you already like if they suit you.
Build gradually
Introduce one new product at a time so it is easier to notice how your skin responds. Follow the pack directions. A routine should not leave you chasing tightness, stinging or a dramatic overnight change. Stop a product that irritates, and seek qualified advice for persistent irritation or troublesome acne.
Before you buy
Ask: what does this product do, when will I use it, and do I already own something that does the same job? The answer can be different for a teenager starting skincare and a young adult simplifying an existing routine. Our routine page shows the steps and individual prices so you can choose what you need.
